19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with former trainer Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since spring of the previous year.

Victory also indicates he has won 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving play style and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, supported by an improved serving game.

He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a final set.

The opponent defended 4 early-game break points in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Suitably, he earned the win with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
